Things are going swimmingly, and as farmers markets wind down, you may notice Olomomo Nuts showing up in a few coffee shops around town. Where can you find Olomomo Nuts if you’re jonesin’ in between Wednesdays and Saturdays? For starters, you can snag some nuts with your cup of joe at OZO Coffee on Arapahoe between Foothills and 55th. They roast their own coffee now, too – it’s delish.
Last week ABC News in Denver featured Olomomo Nut Company in a story about startups in the struggling economy. The opportunity to be on TV came about through winning the Bard Center Business Plan contest. Olomomo was featued in the Boulder County Business Report after winning the Bard Center for Entrepreneurship contest. It’s nice to get a little ink for this crazy little idea!
]]>I think we have a chance to do something fun and useful here – create the best darn nut products available, and solve the “protein problem” in coffee shops while we’re at it. I guess the judges agreed.
It was really gratifying that two local natural and organic companies placed top two in a contest dominated by tech companies. Even more gratifying that the second place winner was The Organic Dish. Um, we use their kitchen to roast our nuts by moonlight. They’re our landlords. How funny is that? They had a really great presentation, and I highly recommend their organic food ready to bake in 15 mins – super delish.
So now that we finally have something to talk about, we decided to get Olomomo a little twitter feed – follow us here: @olomomo.

We roast our original cinnamon & cayenne roasted almonds, cardamom & vanilla roasted almonds, and maple & orange pecans in a copper kettle. Our nuts are healthier and tastier than traditional, sugar-laden German roasted nuts. We cut waaay back on the sugar and use organic, evaporated cane juice. No more heavy sugar belly – you can eat a bunch and still feel good. Our aim is to be 100% organic by next year if we can make the numbers work. We use all natural ingredients, organic when possible, and don’t add any extra oils or dairy products.
